Chicago Cubs Win Wild One in Washington

The Nationals jumped out to an early lead thanks to a three-run homer by Juan Soto in the first inning and an RBI single by Nelson Cruz in the second. The Cubs got on the board in the fourth inning with a two-run homer by Patrick Wisdom, but the Nationals answered right back with a solo homer by Yadiel Hernandez in the bottom of the inning.

The Nationals made things interesting in the ninth inning, loading the bases with one out. However, Cubs reliever David Robertson struck out pinch-hitter Maikel Franco and got Luis Garcia to ground out to end the game.
